Works great!
When you minimize the google sidebar, the gadget stops playing. def needs to get that resolved since a lot of people have limited screen real estate.
Brilliant — this is a TERRIFIC gadget, and I cannot believe how quickly you adopted the program. Thanks
dave, the media player is probably getting stopped by the platform when it gets minimized, we’ll take a look at it, but it’s probably not a fixable gadget issue as opposed to something that Google sidebar is doing.
Dave, you can turn on autohide and hit shift twice to display the sidebar if you are worried about screen real estate.
Thanks for the quick fix, works like a champ. It’s the most important app on my machine.
I keep trying to install the update but when it starts it just tells me that there is an update available from 1.3 to 1.4 “Would you like to install?” and then brings me back to this website. I tried deleting the file in my documents and re-starting my system but nothing works. I really love this gadget but it just isn’t working.. Ahhhhh!
Keith, try it again, the latest 1.4 version has a disabled auto-update, so you’re still seeing a cached version for some reason. Make sure to download it from our website.
Works great – thanks for being so responsive!!
I downloaded link and there is no execuitable…gives me a zipped file? am i missing something?
I downloaded the new gadget last Friday I believe because I had rebooted my PC a couple weeks before and the last version would not accept my log in credentials even though they were correct. This new patch let me log in and it was working fine then that evening for no reason it stopped responding? I now try to get the XM 1.4 patch to let me pick a new channel etc but I don’t get any sound still?? What can I do to resolve this? Also every time my gadget bar side docks it scrunches up all the gadgets and will not let them display correctly? Any idea on how to fix this also? This google gadget add on especially the XM one is great if it would ever work consistantly!!!
Norah, sounds like a file association error, make sure the file has a .gg extension and open it up with Google Sidebar, that should force it to install. Beyond that you’ll have to re-associate the .gg with Google Desktop in your control panel.
Matt, try these instructions out for the no sound issue: http://www.buildagadget.com/Support-Product.php?Code=XM_GG#TopicA3 It’s being caused by a Windows Media Player glitch.
Love your Google gadget. Only one request after months of use:
In your next update, would it be possible to continue displaying the current song/artist in the blank space below the word “Stopped” even when playback has been stopped?
I know I can click the Chan button to open the panel and see all of songs currently playing on my favorite channels. But it would be handy to see at a glance what’s on my current channel, even when I’m not listening to it.
As an alternative, leave the channels panel open even when the app loses focus.
Thanks.
Robert, thanks for the suggestion, we’ll look into it for future updates.
