I realize that this type of site isn’t on the popular side of people’s browsing habits these days, but I thought it would be nice to announce that the redesign to URLot.com has been launched this morning. The interface a lot nicer than it was, there are more options for link shortening, there are more options with the user accounts, and well, there’s just a lot more to it. In case anyone still has a few long links to shorten, do check out:
P.S.: There is also the possibility of using this site
as the basis for a gadget, any thoughts?

i use link shortening all the time and think urlot is good. why dont you make a gadget that allows you to enter the url you want to shorten and the gadget instantly spits out the shortened version? i would use it if you made one.
That’s something I’m thinking of trying out at some point in the future. Just didn’t know if anyone was interested in that sort of thing. Thanks for the feedback!
Afternoon to you all! I came across your blog posting after searching for shorten url and your post on Still Use Link Shorteners? makes an interesting read. Thanks for sharing. I will research more next Wednesday when I have the day off.
Certainly a good idea!
