Well, not a full site redesign, but you get the idea. In order to kind of make this place a little bit easier to understand for the average mortal, we’re currently engaged in a bit of housekeeping.
So we’ve made a couple of changes. The first of course is that there is an actual website now instead of just a blog. But never fear, the blog still exists (As you can see) and still powers the website. It’s almost confusing, but pretty much that’s it. We have all of our really pretty stuff on the other pages, and this is the section where we get down to the nitty gritty. The updates, the lingo, the comments, that stuff hasn’t changed.
But hopefully with the advent of the new changes, visitors to the site won’t be as perplexed by what’s in front of them and can still get very easy access to the programs we’re making. So that’s that.
We’re still tweaking a few things here and there, so there might be an occasional change that will pop up, but nothing too major, so you can re-add your bookmarks without fear.
By the way, how do you all like the new site?
Seems like it’s been a while since anything went on around here, but trust me, we’ve been cranking on some stuff you’re really going to like.
First up on that list is this little gem, the System Control gadget. Basically, with so many shutdown gadgets floating around on the gallery, we figured we’d take a shot at it and see what we could come up with.
Features:
Yeah, we like it. We hope you’ll like it too. There may be upgrades in the future, we’ll have to see.

Some of you might be wondering what we’ve been up to for the past few weeks. For the most part, its been gadget work and perfecting what we’ve been doing with the UE Gadget (Version 2 is in the works and it’s going to be great!). But in the interim, we saw that Google had launched its mapplet program for Google Maps and we couldn’t resist doing something with it.
Behold! A mapplet that searches eBay motors and gives you the locations of autos and parts in the US!
The fun part about this is that the application is 100% Ajax capable and is the first mapplet to actually use eBay directly (there was another mapplet, but they just used their own site and just happened to entries mirrored on eBay).
But yeah, if you happen to be in the US, give this a try, it’s pretty cool even if you’re only playing with it. And if you’re not in the US, well, maybe someday in the future, we’ll include more countries. For now, the US will kind of be the default.
